Science Week 2026
Little scientists take over ! 🔬
Science Week 2026 Recap
From March 9 to 13, our school hosted the Odyssey Science Week, inspired by the model of the British Science Week. This week was entirely dedicated to discovering different types of science: tstudents experimented, observed, and met professionals through hands-on activities, discovering the world with curiosity and a scientific mindset. This year’s theme was: “Curiosity: what’s your question?”.🌍
🗓️ Highlights at EFI Bucarest:Â
– During the week, CM1 and CM2 students stepped into the shoes of researchers, presenting their scientific experiments to students from other classes, from kindergarten to elementary school. They proved to be a driving force behind Science Week, guiding younger students and fostering a mentorship dynamic in which older students inspire and motivate the younger ones. On the agenda: the interdependence between flowers and bees, the influence of food shape on taste perception, and the discovery of volcanoes. At the end of the week, CM students reflected on their learning by writing a genuine research paper.
–Â Then, to discover the diversity of scientific fields, the elementary classes welcomed Jules, a preparator in paleontology, and Lucia, a physicist in the aerospace industry. Their interventions sparked many questions and rich exchanges with the children. To find Lucia and Jules’ interviews, click here !
–Â To end the week, the city of Bucharest became a true classroom : the CM1 and CM2 explored the concept of plant fibers through a workshop at the Botanical Garden, while the CE1 and CE2 dived into space at the Astronomical Observatory to discover more about the planets of the solar system.
It was a week full of new learning and curiosity for the students and the pedagogical team of the school. See you next year for the 2027 edition !🎊
